AMT taps Boyd as new managing director
Former Cox Automotive executive Mike Boyd has joined AutoMobile Technologies as its new managing director, AMT’s parent company Repair OnDemand announced.
The company said Boyd, who will report directly to Repair OnDemand president Randy Kobat, will lead AMT’s expansion efforts and “drive continued success within the car dealership market.”
Boyd most recently served as senior director of commercial strategy for Cox Automotive’s vAuto/iRecon offerings, leading iRecon’s growth to 1,000 dealerships in four years. In a news release, Repair OnDemand said Boyd’s Cox experience illustrated “his ability to align teams, drive business transformation, and enhance operational efficiency.”
The veteran of more than 20 years in the industry founded iReconCars, an automotive dealership software designed to automate reconditioning processes while facilitating real-time interactions with consumers. iReconCars was acquired by vAuto in late 2018.
“Mike’s extensive experience, innovative mindset and deep understanding of the automotive industry make him the perfect fit for this pivotal role,” Kobat said. “His track record of success and leadership will undoubtedly drive AMT’s growth and reinforce our commitment to excellence in serving our customers.”
