Meeting Consumer & Regulatory Demands at Heart of CAR Management Briefing Seminars
With the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau recently directing a round of guidance towards the auto industry, discussion about the potential changes within dealer finance and other compliance issues have been on the minds of many.
Amid such an environment, the upcoming 48th annual Center for Automotive Research Management and Briefing Seminars will focus on bringing some harmony between meeting consumer demands and government regulations.
The conference — scheduled for Aug. 5–8 in Traverse City, Mich. — will include 10 topical seminars, focusing on the following issues: global manufacturing strategies, lightweighting, connected and autonomous vehicles, powertrain developments, sales forecasting, purchasing, policy, designing for technology, and capital investment.
Speakers range from CAR president and chief executive officer Jay Baron to Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder.
Brand execs from a variety of manufacturers, including Volkswagen, Audi, Nissan and more, will also be speaking.
CAR also highlighted a new offering that will act as Thursday’s closing session, titled, “From the Racetrack to Product Development and the Dealership: How Racing Can Drive the Product.”
“CAR MBS will bring together a winning closing panel to discuss how racing can drive product development. Featuring speakers from vehicle manufacturers and supplier race programs, the panel will give insight on how lessons learned on the track are translated into the consumer vehicle — a 'Win on Sunday, Sell on Monday' business strategy,” officials explained.
