LAKELAND, Fla. -

Autoshopper.com revealed Tuesday a new offering that aims to simplify the process of using co-op dollars for online advertising.

The site’s new Co-op Department is able to “guide dealers through the painless process of using co-op dollar to help fund advertising on the site,” officials shared.

Co-op is a joint effort between a car dealer and an OEM, by which the automaker agrees to pay a portion of the dealer’s advertising costs, sometimes up to 100 percent.

“Many thousand of co-op dollars go unspent due to the lack of knowledge on the redemption of the refunds from OEM partners. With the new department in place, dealers can use the money faster and easier to help sell more cars in the slow summer months,” officials continued.

In this new offering, available to franchised dealers to use with OEM programs, the site is launching display advertising solutions that include a new vehicle package that is make and model based.

Citing Autoshopper Reporting Data indicating that a "large audience of new-car buyers" will turn to the Web during the shopping process, officials said that " these changes will enable dealers to utilize the authority of the autoshopper.com site to extend coverage and even drill down to geographic areas."

They added: “According to our partners, thousands of co-op dollars go unspent every month, with a lack of participation from vendors."

The company also noted that this offering does not end on the auto side of the industry; it also carries over into its powersports networks.

“One partner that is participating in the program, is a powersport dealer; with this co-op partnership the dealer will extend their reach and be able to grow sales to a new level with the advertising agreement,” the company concluded.
