ATLANTA -

Manheim has received workplace honors from AARP yet again, as the organization named the auction company to its list of “Best Employees for Workers over 50” for the third time.

Manheim came in at No. 27 on AARP’s list and also made the rankings in 2008 and 2009. There were no such awards last year.

More than half of Manheim’s employees (about 57 percent) are older than 50, and about a fifth of those have been with the company more than 20 years, officials indicated.

The November/December issue of AARP The Magazine will feature the company.

“We’re very proud to be recognized by AARP,” stated Lilicia Bailey, Manheim’s senior vice president and chief people officer. “We value the rich diversity that a multigenerational workforce brings to our business because it helps us understand and serve a wide array of customer’s needs.

“In addition to strengthening the diversity and expanding the talent of our workplace, seasoned workers often have flexibility with their schedule and bring a wide array of experiences that create on-the-job learning opportunities for others,” Bailey added.

Sharing more about Manheim’s performance in AARP’s rankings, the association said Manheim was strong in senior-level recruiting, workplace culture and continued opportunities.

These opportunities are comprised by such amenities as learning development opportunities, tuition reimbursement and an online career development center, among others.

Manheim was also lauded this year for its full health coverage employee benefits as well as it retirement package, where Manheim offers perks like retiree health care, pension and 401(k) plan that includes an employer match as well as help with financial planning.

“An inclusive and diverse workforce is core to our company’s long-term success,” Bailey concluded.
