PALO ALTO, Calif. — Nissan North America will soon offer a new Dealer Business System to help its dealers with added functionality and better organizational flow thanks to a multi-year applications services agreement with HP Enterprise Services revealed Wednesday.

The DBS will include new features and upgraded functionality, as well as what officials call a "state-of-the-art" platform built with service-oriented architecture. This can allow for multiple ways to access NNA's sales, service, parts ordering, warranty claim processing and delivery reporting.

This also allows for dealer management systems and NNA's back-end processing to be integrated in near-real-time. Both Nissan and Infiniti dealers will receive the new program.

"Today's auto buyers have high expectations for customer service, and technology plays a key role in enabling a positive experience at the dealership," shared Stephen Mason, director of the automotive sector at HP Enterprise Services. "HP will use its automotive industry and applications services expertise to provide a solution to help NNA and its dealers achieve their business goals with less risk."

Following Nissan's guidance, HP is also offering application development, implementation, management and hosting services, in addition to providing system certification of the DBS with many providers of dealership management systems.

HP is utilizing a technical service desk environment to offer dealers technical support. The development, testing and operating of the DBS will be done through HP technology.

HP is offering services at the automaker's locations and is also doing so via HP Best Shore global delivery centers that can be found in the U.S. and China.

This is not the first time HP and NNA have worked together, as HP offers NNA infrastructure management services, like HP servers, storage, networking and software.
