Lexus Store Reaches Out to Recognize Top Students
RICHMOND, Va. — As part of its commitment to education and the community, Lexus of Richmond is running its 15th Annual Pursuit of Perfection Leadership Award that will award an outstanding high school senior scholar-athlete in the area with a $10,000 scholarship.
Here is how the program is designed to work.
School principals, guidance counselors and coaches in the Richmond, Va., area nominate students who have made great accomplishments and shown a strong work ethic in the classroom and community as well as in sports.
Lexus of Richmond recognizes one of these student-athletes each week. Each of these nominees gets to be interviewed on the WRVA 1140 radio station as well as by Fox 35 Richmond. These interviews air on the 10 p.m. (EST) Sunday news.
The candidates are also featured on a monthly basis in Richmond Magazine.
Additionally, Lexus of Richmond is employing social media to help spread the word about its scholarship program. The dealership has launched a Facebook page that includes photographs and information about each of the candidates.
In a promotion that began Wednesday and runs through May 10, Facebook friends can check out the site and vote for their favorite nominee. The candidate receiving the most votes wins an Apple iPad.
Lexus of Richmond will announce which of the 30 nominees wins the $10,000 scholarship at an annual banquet at The Mill at Fine Creek in Fine Creek, Va., on May 13. Speaking at the banquet is Virginia Supreme Court Justice William Mims.
At the banquet, the winner of the iPad will be awarded, as well.
