Nissan Selects Guidepoint to Supply Vehicle Tracking and Recovery Systems
Nissan dealers now can offer buyers a technological add-on that can provide owner connectivity and security some domestic vehicles already contain.
Guidepoint Systems this week became the exclusive supplier of GPS-based vehicle tracking and recovery solutions to Nissan franchise dealerships nationwide.
Presented as a dealer-installed option for Nissan buyers, company executives explained each brand vehicle tracking and recovery system comes with a basic plan powered by Guidepoint’s award-winning stolen vehicle recovery service at no extra cost.
Additional safety and convenience services — including emergency dispatch, driving directions, excessive speed alerts and personal concierge services — also are available to Nissan owners through Guidepoint’s response centers located in North America and Central America.
The new system is geared to integrate advanced GPS and wireless technology with Guidepoint’s proprietary software, Web and call-center solutions can deliver a range of location-based services including stolen vehicle recovery, roadside help, fleet management and asset protection.
The company noted the new Nissan VTRS units are designed to utilize wireless connectivity by T-Mobile USA to ensure maximum nationwide coverage for vehicle tracking and recovery services.
“Location-based services using the pinpoint accuracy of GPS are gaining in popularity, and we’re excited to be working with Nissan to offer this very unique safety, security and convenience accessory,” stated Rand Mueller, founder and chief executive officer of Guidepoint, which has been supplying GPS-based telematics devices to North American dealerships since 2002.
“We’ve developed a comprehensive system that’s easy to sell, easy to install and easy to use,” Mueller continued.
“We’re confident that Nissan dealerships will recognize the significant value they can provide their customers with this accessory product,” he concluded.
