Repair OnDemand’s top diagnostic tool will now be available to dealers through Cox Automotive’s popular inventory management platform, thanks to a new partnership.
Repair OnDemand’s BlueDriver MAX is now integrated into vAuto’s trade-in appraisal system, a collaboration designed to give dealerships access to real-time diagnostic data on trade-in vehicles for more accurate appraisals and reduced the risk of unexpected reconditioning costs.
Using diagnostic insights from BlueDriver MAX, the companies said, dealers can identify issues that might otherwise go unnoticed, such as malfunctioning sensors, engine problems or exhaust issues, and factor them into the appraisal process.
“During my time at vAuto, I saw the potential to elevate the trade-in process with real-time data, and this partnership realizes that vision,” said Repair OnDemand president Randy Kobat, who led vAuto as a Cox Automotive executive from 2016 to 2022. “By providing dealers with detailed diagnostic information right at the point of appraisal, we’re giving them the tools they need to make more informed decisions, reduce risk and ultimately drive profitability.”
The companies said the integration will eliminate the need for costly diagnostic equipment or manual inspections and enhance decision-making accuracy, as well as supporting better inventory management by giving dealers more visibility into the mechanical condition of trade-ins, helping them plan for necessary repairs and set accurate reconditioning budgets.
Repair OnDemand said BlueDriver MAX, which was made available to dealers a year ago, is a step up from the basic consumer-grade version of BlueDriver, providing in-depth, professional-grade diagnostics that are specifically designed to meet the needs of dealerships.
The BlueDriver MAX is designed to perform thorough scans of critical vehicle components such as the engine, transmission and exhaust system to make the trade-in process more transparent and efficient.
